[It's also much easier to focus on the table, or the cup, or the floor, or anything other than what Ian's having to sit through right now, even though they haven't really started. He anticipates the teasing, but is at least mildly thankful when he doesn't have to deal with it. Dishing it out has always been easier than taking it and he knows his own skills would be enough to get under his skin, especially with the knowledge of certain things.
